SkipStash ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices around it.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the minimum information needed to make the app work:

• Account information: your email address and name when you create an account.
• App data: habits you create, skips you log, savings goals, and Deal Math entries.
• Social data: friend connections and activity visible on the Friends Feed (only with users you explicitly connect with).
• Device information: basic device identifiers for push notifications, if you opt in.

We do not connect to your bank account, request financial credentials, or access payment information of any kind.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and improve the SkipStash app and its features.
• To send push notifications you opt into (skip reminders, friend activity).
• To display your activity on the Friends Feed to users you have connected with.
• To respond to support requests.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

3. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a third-party backend provider that employs encryption at rest and in transit. We use industry-standard practices to protect your information, but no system is 100% secure.

4. Sharing of Information

We do not share your personal information with third parties except:

• With service providers that help us operate the app (e.g., Supabase for database, Apple for push notifications).
• When required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

5. Friends Feed and Social Features

When you use the Friends Feed, your skip activity (habit name, amount, date) may be visible to users you have added as friends. You can manage your friend list at any time within the app. We do not make your data publicly searchable.

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it by law.

7. Children's Privacy

SkipStash is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

8. Your Choices

• Push notifications: you can disable these at any time in your device settings.
• Account deletion: contact us at support@skipstashapp.com to request deletion of your account and data.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
